Living Room Interior Ideas: TV

Choosing the right TV and where to mount it is an important mission that you’ll master right now.

One important step when you’re designing your home is to choose your appliances, in this post I’ll help you understand what TV to get and where to place it. This step should be during the furniture step of your interior design process, if you’re unsure what I’m talking about then you must first understand the interior design framework.

The first thing you need to plan when you’re designing your living room is the TV size, how do you calculate screen size.

To start off you need to calculate your room’s dimensions and decide which wall will hold the TV. Once done you need to compute the distance from the sofa to the wall and that distance determines the screen size.

The following formula is then applied to calculate your screen distance, very simple.

TV SizeRecommended Minimum Distance (4k quality)Recommended Minimum Distance (1080p quality)
40″40 inches (101 cm)80 inches (202 cm)
42″42 inches (106 cm)84 inches (212 cm)
48″48 inches (120 cm)96 inches (240 cm)
50″50 inches (127 cm)100 inches (254 cm)
55″55 inches (140 cm)110 inches (280 cm)
60″60 inches (152 cm)120 inches (304 cm)
65″65 inches (165 cm)130 inches (330 cm)
75″75 inches (190 cm)150 inches (380 cm)

Now that you know what screen size is needed, you need to choose a model!

It’s almost 2020! You must get a smart TV. I’ve personally tried a few different smart TVs and I’ve finally settled for one in my living room, here are my recommendations based on my experience with these models.
It’s better to invest in a high-quality TV for a smoother viewing experience and to further protect our eyes. Choose according to your budget, the better the technology the smoother the experience.

I also recommend Flat instead of curved and have it wall mounted so you can have the perfect viewing angle.
